Begin in Osh, one of Central Asia’s oldest cities, before crossing into Tajikistan and ascending to the dramatic high-altitude plateau. Visit the breathtaking Karakul Lake, a vast alpine lake formed by a meteorite impact and surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Continue across the towering Ak-Baital Pass (4,655 m), the highest point of the Pamir Highway, where sweeping views and thin mountain air create a truly unforgettable experience.
Continue your journey across the high Pamir plateau, crossing the impressive Ak-Baital Pass (4,655 m), the highest point along the Pamir Highway. Drive through Murghab, the main settlement of the region, where you will stop for lunch and observe daily life in this remote mountain community. From here, travel onward to Bulunkul, known for its extreme climate. En route, visit the tranquil Yashilkul Lake, offering stunning views and a sense of complete isolation.
Travel into the legendary Wakhan Valley, where history, culture, and nature come together. Stop in Langar to explore ancient petroglyphs before visiting the Buddhist stupa in Vrang. Discover the cultural heritage of the region at the museum dedicated to Muborak-Kadami Vakhani. Surrounded by towering peaks and overlooking Afghanistan across the Panj River, the Wakhan Valley offers some of the most memorable landscapes of the journey.
Continue along the Wakhan corridor, stopping at the natural Bibi Fatima Hot Springs for relaxation. Visit the historic Yamchun and Qahqaha fortresses, both offering breathtaking panoramic views across the valley. Arrive in Khorog, a lively town set along the Panj River. Take time to explore its botanical garden and central park, and experience the welcoming atmosphere of this mountain town.
Depart Khorog and head towards the remote Bartang Valley. From here, begin a scenic hike of approximately 3 hours to reach Jizeu Village. Hidden among mountains and crystal-clear lakes, Jizeu is a peaceful and isolated settlement where life remains traditional. With no modern infrastructure, it offers a rare opportunity to disconnect and experience authentic Pamiri culture.
After returning from Jizeu, continue your journey along the Panj River towards Qalai Khumb. Enjoy the scenic drive along this natural border with Afghanistan, where you can observe everyday life in remote villages across the river. A lunch stop is planned en route before reaching Qalai Khumb.
On your final day, continue towards Dushanbe, following the winding river valleys and mountain roads. Along the way, enjoy views of the impressive Nurek Dam and visit the historic Hulbuk Fortress. After a lunch stop in Kulob, continue to the capital city, where your journey concludes.
