Experience authentic Japanese sumo culture like never before!
Discover sumo, Japan's national sport, with roots dating back nearly 2,000 years. Enjoy an authentic, heartwarming show supervised by legendary former Grand Sumo Ozeki KONISHIKI, featuring former professional rikishi selected from across Japan, all formerly members of the Japan Sumo Association.
Watch traditional sumo rituals and techniques passed down through generations, with detailed explanations of sumo's history, rules, ceremonies, etiquette and Japanese culture in English and Japanese. The show concludes with powerful live bouts showcasing strength, skill and the spirit of respect.
About the Sumo Experience
After the show, step onto our specially designed mat-based dohyō, the same size as a professional sumo ring. Unlike a traditional clay ring, it is designed with women, children and beginners in mind. Learn shiko and suri-ashi directly from former professional rikishi.
You may also challenge a former rikishi in a friendly match. Participation is optional; if demand is high, challengers may be chosen by lottery for safety and scheduling, with children prioritised where possible. The VVIP package guarantees one guest a challenge without a lottery.
After the experience, enjoy a commemorative photo session with former rikishi!
Japanese Cultural Experiences
Try on a traditional Japanese haori and take photos for free before the show. Professional kimono dressing is available with selected packages or as a paid add-on. On selected dates, a SAMURAI Experience featuring real-sword iaido demonstrations is also available.
