What you can expect

Forget Dotonbori's tourist crowds. This three-hour evening adventure takes you straight into where Osakans actually eat and drink — starting with one of Japan's most beloved local food rituals: kushikatsu, the deep-fried skewer.

STOP 1 — DIY Kushikatsu Buffet (90 min, all-you-can-eat)
Your guide meets you at Umeda Station (Osaka station) and walks you to a beloved local kushikatsu restaurant. Here's the twist: you don't just eat kushikatsu — you fry it yourself. Each table has its own deep fryer. Choose from over 30 daily varieties (beef, pork, shrimp, scallop, mochi, mozzarella, seasonal vegetables, even dessert skewers), batter them, drop them into the oil, and dip into Osaka's signature double-dip-prohibited sauce. Eat as much as you want for 90 minutes. Your guide teaches you the technique, the etiquette, and the stories behind why kushikatsu became Osaka's soul food.

STOP 2 — Hidden Bar #1 (welcome drink included)
Belly full, you head into the labyrinth of narrow alleys behind Umeda Station — Your first drink is on us. Try Japanese highball, sake, shochu, or local craft beer. This is the part of Osaka that no guidebook can give you a reservation for.

STOP 3 — Bar #2 (your call)
The night ends with a bar tailored to your mood.
Want to keep it mellow with craft cocktails and quiet conversation? Done.
Want to crank it up with locals and play some arcades game while you're drunk? Also done.
Tell your guide what kind of night you're feeling, and they'll pick the right room. Drinks at this stop are at your own expense — typically ¥600–¥1,000 per drink.

WHY THIS TOUR IS DIFFERENT
Most Osaka food tours give you tiny tasting portions across multiple shops. We give you 90 minutes of unlimited cooking-and-eating before you even start drinking — because in Osaka, food and booze are inseparable. You leave full, slightly tipsy, and with the kind of stories you only get when a local takes you somewhere with no English menu.

SOLO TRAVELERS WELCOME. This tour runs from just 1 guest, so even if you're travelling alone, your booking is confirmed.

FLEXIBLE START TIME. The tour begins at 18:00 by default, but we know travel schedules don't always cooperate. Need to start earlier or later to fit your dinner reservation, kid's bedtime, or train schedule? Just message us after booking and we'll adjust — no extra charge.
