Begin your adventure at 9:00 AM aboard a comfortable boat with certified captains, cushioned seating, and a canopy to protect from the sun. Cruise through the Northern Gulf of Tribugá, where the tropical rainforest meets the Pacific Ocean in a spectacular fusion of emerald-green mountains, turquoise waters, and golden sand beaches.
This expedition is designed to adapt to your interests, available time, and the conditions of the day. Depending on the season and your preferences, you can choose which places you would like to visit along the northern coast. Possible destinations include the Utría National Natural Park, Playa Blanca, Murumico Waterfall, the hot springs of Jurubirá, and Puerto Tomás de Resumos in Jurubirá.
From July to early November, the main focus of the expedition is responsible humpback whale watching. During this season, whales migrate to the Pacific waters of Colombia, making this one of the best times of the year to observe them. When whales are present, the expedition prioritises whale watching and follows responsible observation practices, maintaining a respectful distance and avoiding actions that could disturb the animals.
When whales are not present, or outside the whale-watching season, the itinerary can focus more directly on exploring the beaches, waterfalls, hot springs, protected areas, and other destinations available in the northern Gulf. Your local guide will help determine the best route according to weather, sea conditions, available time, and your interests.
Throughout the day, step ashore to follow short rainforest trails leading to viewpoints, waterfalls, beaches, and natural pools. You may also enjoy authentic Pacific cuisine at local restaurants (lunch not included; approximately 40,000 COP), supporting local families and businesses along the way.
Your local guides will share stories, knowledge, and information about the territory, its ecosystems, and the communities that live along the Pacific coast, helping you understand the natural and cultural context of the places you visit.
