Meet your instructor at Parque da Cidade, one of the most famous flight ramps in Brazil. After a safety briefing and gear check, take just a few steps down the ramp and lift off into the air. In seconds you are gliding smoothly above the coastline.
From the sky you take in a panorama few travellers ever see: Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, Guanabara Bay, the ocean beaches and the full Rio skyline on the horizon. Your pilot handles everything while you simply enjoy the view and the feeling of flying.
The flight itself lasts around 10 to 15 minutes, and can reach up to 30 minutes on days with ideal wind. The full experience, including preparation, waiting for the best wind window and the ride back, takes about 1 hour. Because paragliding depends on the weather, there may be a short wait for safe conditions.
Land gently on the sand at Charitas beach, then get a ride back to the launch point at Parque da Cidade. Your flight is recorded with a GoPro Hero 13, and you take home the photos and video to relive the adventure and share it.
