Your adventure begins with a scenic drive north. From mid-April through late October, you'll cruise through the Thousand Islands, featuring emerald waters and historic mansions scattered across 50 miles of Lake Ontario shoreline. You'll glide past islands both grand and tiny, each with its own storey to tell. During the cooler months (late October through mid-April), you'll experience a different slice of the region: stop at Cornell University for an hour to explore the campus and take in views of Cayuga Lake, then spend 45 minutes at the lake itself, where rolling vineyards meet tranquil waters, and visit Americana Vineyards Winery for an hour of tastings and cellar tours. You'll spend your first night in the Syracuse or Auburn region before continuing to the main event: Niagara Falls.

Day two is all about the falls. Feel the thundering power of 750,000 gallons of water per second as you approach the base aboard the Voyage to the Falls boat. Later, ascend Skylon Tower for lunch with sweeping views, then dive deeper into the region's character with visits to a century-old power plant, the dramatic whirlpool rapids, and the charming heritage town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Sample maple syrup and ice wine along the way. Your hotel for the night sits right in the heart of the action, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing the illuminated falls.

On your final morning, there's no alarm clock. Sleep in, stroll the falls at your own pace, then explore the impressive Niagara Parks Power Station. Descend 180 feet in a glass lift and walk through a 2,200-foot tunnel carved into the rock, emerging at an observation platform where the river's raw power is on full display. From there, you'll head back to New York with memories to last a lifetime.
