What you can expect

  • Step off the busy streets of New Haven and into a sanctuary of sound, art, and stillness. Nestled at the end of a quiet, tree-lined street in Wooster Square, the Chestnut Street Art House is unlike any other space in the city, part gallery, part temple, and fully devoted to the art of healing through vibration.

Led by Sound Healer and Reiki practitioner Maxwell Reichert, this 70 minute experience is an invitation to slow down, release tension, and reconnect with your natural rhythm.

Begin with a warm welcome and brief grounding practice. Settle into the art-filled studio, surrounded by the evocative works of Tony Kosloski, whose paintings reflect the same energy and emotion that flow through sound.

Open the session with gentle breath work (pranayama) to calm the nervous system and prepare the body to receive vibration. As you relax into stillness, Maxwell will weave together an intuitive soundscape using Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, gong, chimes, voice, and Reiki energy.

Every tone carries intention. The bowls’ harmonics work through layers of physical, emotional, and energetic tension, encouraging deep rest, inner clarity, and nervous system balance. The experience feels like a meditative journey inward, where the mind quiets and the body remembers how to heal itself.

Whether you’re seeking emotional release, deep relaxation, or simply a moment of peace during your travels, this sound bath offers a profound reset for body and soul.

Located just minutes from city centre New Haven, this hidden art house provides a tranquil retreat.

Leave feeling lighter, clearer, and deeply grounded, carrying with you the resonance of peace long after the last tone fades.
