What you can expect

  • Get to know Oman's capital on a relaxed 4.5-hour guided tour. Your local guide takes you to Muscat's most famous landmarks and shares the history and everyday culture behind them with an experienced English- and Arabic-speaking Omani guide.

    Start at the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, known for its hand-woven carpet and huge crystal chandelier. Next, visit the Royal Opera House, then walk along the Mutrah Corniche with views of the harbour, dhows and mountains. Wander through Mutrah Souq, one of Oman's oldest markets, then drive to Old Muscat for photos of the 16th-century Portuguese forts and the ceremonial Al Alam Palace.
    You travel in an air-conditioned vehicle and get bottled water.
