Your journey begins in the quaint village of Međuriječje, approximately 40 km north of Podgorica. From here, you'll engage on a moderately challenging hike that winds through lush forests, along the crystal-clear Mrtvica River, and into the heart of the canyon.
Along the way, you'll encounter several highlights:
King Danilo’s Bridge: A 19th-century stone bridge built in honour of King Danilo II’s mother, offering picturesque views of the river below.
Gate of Wishes (Kapija Želja): A natural rock arch steeped in local legend. According to folklore, making a wish here with a pure heart may see it granted by the mountain fairy of Maganik.
Mrtvičke Grede (Beams of Mrtvica): An impressive path carved into the canyon wall by the Yugoslav army, providing thrilling views of the river below.

The trail is approximately 12 km return, taking about 4 to 6 hours to complete, depending on your pace and the number of stops you make. The path is well-marked but can be rocky and uneven in places, so sturdy hiking shoes are recommended.
