King Kong Hill (Bukit Kingkong) is one of the most popular sunrise viewpoints in the Mount Bromo area. Located at a higher elevation, this spot offers a wide panoramic view of the Bromo Tengger Semeru landscape, including Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, and Mount Semeru. From here, travellers can witness the sunrise as it slowly lights up the volcanic mountains and the Sea of Sand below. Mount Bromo is an active volcano and one of the main highlights of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. After enjoying the sunrise from a viewpoint such as Penanjakan or King Kong Hill, the journey continues down to the Mount Bromo area. From the sunrise viewpoint, guests descend by 4x4 jeep into the vast Sea of Sand. The journey continues across the volcanic desert until reaching the base of Mount Bromo. From the parking area, guests continue either on foot or by optional horse ride (not included) to the stairs leading up to the crater. A climb of several hundred steps takes you to the rim of the active volcano. At the top, visitors can see the smoking crater surrounded by a dramatic volcanic landscape and mountain views. The atmosphere is cold, windy, and surreal, creating a powerful mix of adventure and natural beauty.
