What you can expect

Your guided tour of Molfetta will start from the symbol of the city, the cathedral of San Corrado, which is dedicated to the patron saint of the city. Built near the port in the 12th century, it is a typical Romanesque construction with the distinction of having been built with 3 domes in axes, and with two bell towers clearly visible even several kilometres away.

The tour will then continue through the historic centre with a visit to the 17th-century Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. It became a cathedral in 1785, since the Cathedral of San Corrado became inadequate to the needs of worship of the increased population. Within it are the preserved remains of the patron saint Conrad of Bavaria.
Portrayed in the interior of the church is a Latin cross, with a barrel vaulted ceiling that was frescoed in 1887 by the Molfolini painter Michele Romano.

A short distance between the alleys of the historic centre, you will reach the tower of Passari, initially a gunboat which later became a lookout tower. The tower is majestic and compact, and at the base, the walls are massive and reach a thickness of 5 metres that gradually decreases up to the cord. From here you can climb up to the summit, from which you can admire a spectacular 360-degree view. In the centre there are three gunboats, which are arranged in the three directions of the horizon.
