Activity itinerary

Hiroshima Station

  • 1h
We meet at a central and convenient location in Hiroshima, such as Hiroshima Station (Shinkansen exit), Hiroshima Port, or your hotel where possible. After a short introduction, we begin our journey together towards Miyajima, travelling by local train and ferry or another suitable combination depending on the day’s conditions. Approximately 45–60 minutes including train and ferry connections.

Itsukushima Shrine

  • 40m
  • Admission ticket not included
Visit Itsukushima Shrine and explore the iconic “floating” torii gate area, along with the nearby island streets and waterfront.

Daishoin Temple

  • 1h
Daisho-in Temple is one of Miyajima’s most important Buddhist temples and is closely connected to the history of the island. As part of the Shingon Buddhist tradition, the temple complex features atmospheric paths, stone steps, and countless statues, offering a deep spiritual contrast to the seaside shrine areas.

Miyajima Omotesando Shopping Street

  • 50m
Explore Miyajima’s lively Omotesando shopping street, filled with local souvenir shops and street food stalls. This is a great place to experience the island’s casual side and try local specialities such as freshly grilled oysters and momiji manju, a traditional maple-leaf shaped sweet filled with red bean paste or other seasonal flavours. Your guide will help you navigate the different tastes and introduce you to the local flavours, while also sharing insights into local beliefs and traditions connected to the island.

Machiya Street (Pass by)

We may also explore quieter backstreets such as Machiya Street, offering a glimpse into Miyajima’s traditional wooden townhouses and local atmosphere beyond the main shopping area.

Hiroshima Miyajimaguchi Tourist Information Center

  • 2h
Enjoy a relaxed lunch featuring Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, a local speciality that originated as a post-war street food and has become one of the city’s most iconic dishes. Traditionally cooked on a hot teppanyaki grill, it is prepared in layers with noodles, vegetables, egg, and savoury sauce. Vegetarian and dietary options can be arranged depending on availability. At the end of lunch, we transfer to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park by tram, a short and convenient ride that offers a glimpse of the city along the way.

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park

  • 1h 30m
Guided walk through Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, including the Atomic Bomb Dome and surrounding memorials. We explore the area with historical context and local perspectives.

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum

  • 50m
  • Admission ticket not included
Visit the museum at your own pace, depending on your interests and comfort level. As guiding inside the museum is not permitted, we recommend using the available audio guide to gain deeper context while exploring the exhibits. An introduction will be offered before entering the museum, and your guide will accompany you throughout the visit and remain available for support. This allows you to engage with the experience in a personal and meaningful way, with time to reflect on the powerful stories presented throughout the museum.

Hiroshima Station

  • 30m
The experience concludes at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, allowing time for reflection in this meaningful setting. From here, guests may continue exploring independently or proceed to their preferred onward destination. Your guide will assist with directions for return to Hiroshima Station (Shinkansen exit), Hiroshima Port, or your accommodation if required.
