Experience the thrill of flight as you take off from the heights of Hirzer Mountain, just above Merano. This tandem paragliding adventure offers a unique perspective on South Tyrol’s breathtaking landscapes, with vibrant green meadows and rugged rock faces stretching out below you. Feel the rush of the wind and the freedom of gliding silently through the air, accompanied by a certified instructor who ensures both your safety and comfort.
Your adventure begins at the Hirzer cable car valley station in Saltaus, where you’ll meet your instructor and receive a short safety briefing. After a scenic cable car ride, a 15-minute walk brings you to the launch site at 2,200 metres above sea level. Here, you’ll be securely harnessed and prepared for takeoff. As you run a few steps down the grassy slope, the paraglider catches the wind and you lift gently into the sky.
During the approximately 30-minute flight, enjoy panoramic views over Merano, the Passeier Valley, and the surrounding Dolomites. Your instructor will guide the paraglider, allowing you to relax and fully absorb the scenery. If conditions allow, you may even try gentle steering manoeuvres under supervision. The flight ends with a smooth landing at Torgglerhof in Saltaus, where you can reflect on your unforgettable aerial journey.
This activity is suitable for most ages (5–99 years) and is available daily from March to November. Please note that the price does not include the cable car ticket. The total duration, including preparation and return, is about 90 minutes, leaving you plenty of time to explore Merano or enjoy a local meal afterwards.
