Learn to windsurf with a 3-day course in Malta. Get an introduction to the sport and learn how to windsurf with the help of an experienced instructor.
Day 1:
Start with the theory of how the wind works, the equipment, the position on the board, how to counterbalance the sail, and sailing directions. Learn how to pull the sail up and go into the start position.
After that, hit the water where you will see a demonstration of what was explained during the theory part, then it will be your turn to go up on the board and practice the start position. When you manage to get the balance and position on the board fixed, move to the next step.
In this step, you will be shown how to turn around both sides (tack) against the wind, and it will be your turn to practice until you master it. The next step will be sailing. You will be shown how to move from the start position to the sailing position and put yourself in balance in order to sail away.
Day 2:
Start the lesson by warming up and practising what you learned on day 1. The next step is how to sail against the wind (upwind). You will have some theory on land and see a demonstration of what is needed to sail against the wind. Day 2 consists of practising sailing against the wind until you master the technique.
Day 3:
Start the lesson by warming up and practising what you learned on days 1 and 2. Continue the course by covering the easy part, going in favour of the wind (downwind). Here you will have a short theory session on land before you hit the water where you will see a demonstration of how to sail downwind and turn (jibe).
