Just a stone's throw from the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, L'Aventure du Sucre invites you to explore the fascinating history of Mauritius through the iconic world of sugar cane. Housed in a former 19th-century sugar mill, this living museum welcomes more than 100,000 visitors each year for an interactive cultural immersion that is accessible to all.

Monumental machines, giant screens, videos, models and interactive devices punctuate the route as you discover life around the plantations, the secrets of making sugar and rum, as well as the ingenious by-products of sugar cane, such as green electricity or natural fertilisers.

The tour concludes with a food tasting of Mauritian sugars with unique aromas and a selection of exceptional rums. A must-do experience to understand the soul of Mauritius, ideal for families as well as those curious about culture, history, and local flavours.
