What you can expect

Soak up the Provencal lifestyle in the charming city of Aix-en-Provence, the peaceful village of Cassis, and the vibrant port of Marseille. Stroll down ancient streets, go for a cruise through coastal calanques and visit quaint fishing villages for a taste of life on the Mediterranean.

Aix-en-Provence is famous for its centuries-old architecture and religious sites, bustling squares and fountains and lively atmosphere as a university town. Enjoy a stroll down boulevards, admiring the lavish façades of the city’s impressive aristocratic palaces. A tasting of local products in Aix en Provence will be included.

Continue on to the old fishing village of Cassis, where you’re certain to be beguiled by this traditional Mediterranean locale. Gaze at the colourful houses and small sailing boats docked in the bay as you walk along the waterfront and through the village. Possibility to board a 45-minute cruise (not included) through the clear waters of 3 superb inlets—these steep-walled coves known as calanques are an icon of Cassis.

On the way back, enjoy a tour of Marseille’s major sites, including a photo stop at Notre-Dame de la Garde Basilica. From this hilltop church, take in panoramic views over the Phocaean city − so nicknamed for its origins as a Greek colony − the Frioul Islands and the storied Château d’If, made famous in the classic novel The Count of Monte Cristo. Admire the 11th-century Abbaye Saint-Victor before reaching the city’s picturesque Vieux Port.
