Discover an authentic experience on the banks of the Drava River near Maribor.

The adventure takes place between Maribor and Zlatolicje, at one of my spots where discovering gold flakes is guaranteed.

After an introduction to the history of gold through the centuries, you'll learn how to observe a river and recognise the areas where heavy materials, including gold, tend to accumulate.

After the theory, it's time for practice.

A demonstration will allow you to discover the use of the pan, the iconic tool of the gold prospector.
You will put your new knowledge into practice directly on the river bank, in a small group. I will be by your side to advise and guide you.

This activity is specially designed for beginners and families. Groups are deliberately limited in size to ensure careful guidance and a friendly experience.

At the end of the session, you will keep the gold flakes you have found in a complimentary souvenir vial. A certificate of attendance and gold discovery will also be sent to you after the activity.

The activity is offered in Slovenian, French, English, or Serbo-Croatian.

Whether you are passionate about nature, curious to discover an original and ancient activity, or simply looking for an unusual experience in Slovenia, this introduction to gold panning will allow you to enjoy a unique moment in contact with the river and leave with your own gold.

• The “XP Metal Detectors” gold panning equipment is loaned for the introductory session.
• Group of 1 to 4 people. Large families are possible: contact me.
• Adult: over 16 years old, child: 7-15 years old. I help very young children.
• Insurance: The participant is responsible for checking that they have insurance coverage suitable for outdoor leisure activities.
• Weather:
  Sun or light rain = introductory lesson goes ahead.
  Heavy rain or thunderstorms = cancellation or postponement; you can opt for a full refund.
• MANDATORY: closed shoes or beach shoes (no flip flops). Use of water slippers.

Meeting point:

• If you have a vehicle: we will meet at the base camp in Hoče (2311) or in a car park near a spot, at your convenience.
• If you don't have a vehicle: I will pick you up at the Hoče or Maribor train station; or your hotel/accommodation if in Maribor (+/- 5 km).
