What you can expect

  • The history of the Els Calderers estate dates back to 1285, when it was documented under the name of the owner family, the Calderer family. In the 18th century, this “possessió” passed into the hands of the noble and ancient Verí family, who built the imposing stately mansion that we see today around 1750.

The entire estate includes the main building, stables, and pens with animals native to the island, including the famous black pig, from which the delicious Mallorcan sobrasada is made. The complex also includes various outbuildings, such as the blacksmith's workshop with the original tools, the oven in which bread and coca were baked, and the laundry room for washing and dyeing clothes.

You can also see farm animals of native breeds, such as the Mallorcan black pig, which is used to make the delicious sobrasada (a cured raw sausage). You can also visit the different workshops, such as the blacksmith's with its historical tools, the bakery, and the laundry.

Els Calderers is located at the turnoff of the road leading from Palma to Manacor, at kilometre 37.

The visit consists of sections with an approximate duration of 45 minutes, visiting the HOUSE-MUSEUM, the GARDENS, the WORKSHOPS, and the ANIMAL FARM

After the visit, you can enjoy the BAR and SHOP with typical local products (cured meats, oils, olives, cheeses, almonds, etc.)
