What you can expect
Embark on a breathtaking journey through the heart of the Canadian Rockies, where every stop offers stunning natural beauty and iconic photo opportunities. This full-day adventure includes some of Banff and Jasper National Parks' most cherished landmarks. Ride aboard a rugged Ice Explorer (at additional cost), designed for glacial travel to bring you close to the Athabasca Glacier, one of the six main “toes” of the Columbia Icefield.
Lake Louise :Lake Louise is one of the most iconic and breathtaking destinations in Banff National Park. Known for its stunning turquoise waters, the lake is fed by glacial melt from the Victoria Glacier, giving it its vibrant colour during summer. Surrounded by towering mountains and dense forests, it offers picture-perfect scenery year-round.
Crowfoot Glacier :Next, enjoy a scenic drive along the Icefields Parkway to view the Crowfoot Glacier, perched dramatically on the edge of Crowfoot Mountain. Once resembling a crow's foot with three distinct toes, this glacier has been slowly retreating due to climate change—yet it remains a striking example of the region's glacial history. It’s an excellent spot to pause and admire the power and beauty of nature at high elevation.
Waterfowl Lake
Passing through alpine meadows and dense forest, we stop at Waterfowl Lake, a tranquil and less crowded gem along the Icefields Parkway. This scenic lake offers stunning views of Mount Chephren, mirrored in the glass-like waters. It’s a peaceful place to take a break, snap a few quiet photos, and enjoy the untouched wilderness of the Canadian Rockies.
Peyto Lake
A short walk leads to the panoramic viewpoint over Peyto Lake, one of the most photographed lakes in the Canadian Rockies. Famous for its unique wolf-head shape and unreal turquoise colour, Peyto Lake’s vibrant hue comes from glacial rock flour. The viewing platform offers a sweeping vista of the valley below and is truly a highlight for nature lovers and photographers alike.
Bow Lake :Bow Lake is a serene and scenic lake located along the famous Icefields Parkway. Fed by the Bow Glacier, it features crystal-clear blue waters and dramatic mountain backdrops, including views of Crowfoot Mountain and the glacier above. The calm waters often reflect the surrounding peaks, creating stunning mirror-like views, especially during early morning or sunset.
❄️Columbia Icefield :The day’s grand finale is the awe-inspiring Columbia Icefield, one of the largest ice masses in North America. Here you can see the Athabasca Glacier, a remnant of the last Ice Age, and explore the Glacier Discovery Centre. Glacier Adventure—a ride on a specially designed Ice Explorer vehicle across the glacier—and the Skywalk, a glass-floored walkway that hangs over the Sunwapta Valley for dramatic views. Whether you choose to join the activities or simply enjoy the scenery, the Columbia Icefield is a truly unforgettable experience.
