Waterfowl Lake
Passing through alpine meadows and dense forest, we stop at Waterfowl Lake, a tranquil and less crowded gem along the Icefields Parkway. This scenic lake offers stunning views of Mount Chephren, mirrored in the glass-like waters. It’s a peaceful place to take a break, snap a few quiet photos, and enjoy the untouched wilderness of the Canadian Rockies.
Peyto Lake
A short walk leads to the panoramic viewpoint over Peyto Lake, one of the most photographed lakes in the Canadian Rockies. Famous for its unique wolf-head shape and unreal turquoise colour, Peyto Lake’s vibrant hue comes from glacial rock flour. The viewing platform offers a sweeping vista of the valley below and is truly a highlight for nature lovers and photographers alike.
Bow Lake :Bow Lake is a serene and scenic lake located along the famous Icefields Parkway. Fed by the Bow Glacier, it features crystal-clear blue waters and dramatic mountain backdrops, including views of Crowfoot Mountain and the glacier above. The calm waters often reflect the surrounding peaks, creating stunning mirror-like views, especially during early morning or sunset.
❄️Columbia Icefield :The day’s grand finale is the awe-inspiring Columbia Icefield, one of the largest ice masses in North America. Here you can see the Athabasca Glacier, a remnant of the last Ice Age, and explore the Glacier Discovery Centre. Glacier Adventure—a ride on a specially designed Ice Explorer vehicle across the glacier—and the Skywalk, a glass-floored walkway that hangs over the Sunwapta Valley for dramatic views.
