Set off through the streets of Vieux-Lyon for a morning walk through its three areas, accompanied by a leading expert on the traboules, those characteristic passageways of the city of Lyon! Together, we’ll embark on a two-hour walking tour to discover the city’s most beautiful treasures, built during the Renaissance period.
We’ll meet at the foot of the Saint-Paul train station and head towards Rue Octavio-Mey for our first traboule. Then, our walk will continue along Rue François Vernay, Rue Lainerie, Rue Juiverie, and so on, all the way to Place du Change, before we visit the Saint-Jean district and finally the Saint-Georges district, the final stop on our journey, after a direct exploration of these little architectural gems nestled within the buildings.
Lyon is a city that hides many of its treasures and wonders behind its doors and façades. It’s a secretive city, much like the character often attributed to its inhabitants… If you’re not staying long, it’s therefore best—if not essential—to be well-informed and accompanied in order to fully appreciate its charms.
