Here at Lake Constance, the vines grow predominantly on ice-age weathered soils – there is nothing like it anywhere else in Germany! The terroir offers ideal conditions for producing fine wines. The mild climate, Lake Constance as a heat reservoir, the reflection of the sun's rays on the heat-loving vines and, last but not least, the warm foehn winds from the Mediterranean ensure that excellent, award-winning wines grow by Lake Constance at an altitude of sometimes over 500 m above sea level.
