After a short transfer to a carefully selected terra firme and várzea transition forest, enter a low-disturbance trail system ideal for detecting both canopy and understory species.
During the morning session, your specialised birding guide will focus on identifying mixed-species flocks, a key feature of Amazonian bird ecology. Expect opportunities to observe ant-following birds such as antbirds (Thamnophilidae), as well as woodcreepers, manakins, and potentially elusive species like tinamous or trogons. Interpretation will include vocalization recognition, microhabitat differentiation, and behavioural ecology insights.
Around midday, visit a local indigenous community where a traditional Amazonian lunch is served. This moment also provides a unique opportunity to understand the relationship between local cultures and avifauna, including traditional ecological knowledge and conservation practices.
