This magical place is nestled in the mountains near Noboribetsu. The lake is a secret oasis untouched by the tourists of Noboribetsu Onsen. During spring and summer, the surrounding forests are lush green and in autumn they transform to various shades of orange, red and yellow!

This walking tour starts in Karurusu Onsen and takes just over an hour to reach the lake. On the way, we will walk through broadleaf forests until we reach the lake. The path starts flat and then gradually winds up to the top of the ridgeline. We then descend down the other side and arrive at the lake. At the lake, we will rest while having a drink. This is a great chance to escape the crowds and enjoy the peacefulness of Noboribetsu’s nature.
