What you can expect

  • Discover one of the most amazing and little-known places in La Palma: a spectacular lava tube formed by ancient lava flows. Enter a normally inaccessible space and enjoy a true underground adventure accompanied by an expert guide.

The experience begins with a walk along a boardwalk that crosses the lava flow. Along the way, we'll make several stops to learn about how the lava created this fascinating landscape and how the volcanic tube we'll visit was formed.

From this privileged setting, you can also see the Tajogaite volcano, the star of the historic eruption of 2021, and understand how this event forever transformed the island of La Palma.

When you reach the entrance to the cave, you'll be kitted out with a helmet and a torch, as there is no artificial lighting inside. Little by little, you'll enter a world of darkness and silence where time seems to stand still.

As you go further in, you'll discover stunning shapes sculpted by lava, roots that penetrate metres of volcanic rock, and minerals that continue to evolve over time. Our guide will explain to you, in an engaging and thorough way, the geological processes that gave rise to this extraordinary natural space and the different volcanic structures that you'll be able to see.

But the cave is much more than geology. Its legends, fascinating facts, and the unique atmosphere inside make the visit an unforgettable experience that will awaken all your senses.
