Begin with a guided tour of Daihoonji Temple, a hidden gem in Kyoto. Explore the temple’s main hall and treasure hall, where nationally designated Buddhist statues are preserved. Gain insight into the history and cultural background of the site, with explanations provided in both English and Chinese.
After the tour, transition into a Kyudo experience under the guidance of a Kyoshi (master-level) 6th-dan instructor with over 50 years of teaching experience. Learn the basics of traditional Japanese archery, with a focus on awareness, posture, and the process itself.
Throughout the session, a 4th-dan practitioner will provide clear explanations in both English and Chinese, ensuring that you can follow the practice comfortably and with confidence. Rather than focusing solely on hitting the target, the experience emphasises awareness, posture, and the process itself—offering a quiet and reflective encounter with traditional Japanese archery.
※Upgrade your experience with a traditional Kyudo uniform rental (+¥5,000). Wearing the attire used by Kyudo practitioners offers a deeper immersion into the traditions and atmosphere of Japanese archery.
