Day 1: Kutaisi to Mestia

Meet your guide in Kutaisi and begin the scenic journey towards the Svaneti mountains. Travel through the landscapes of western Georgia, passing rivers, forests, and traditional villages as the road gradually climbs into the Caucasus Mountains. Along the way, your driver-guide shares insights about local culture, history, and daily life in the region.

Make a stop at the impressive Enguri Dam, one of the largest hydroelectric dams in Europe. Enjoy panoramic views of the turquoise reservoir and learn about its importance for Georgia’s energy system. Continue the drive through dramatic mountain scenery towards Mestia, the cultural centre of Upper Svaneti.

Arrive in the afternoon and check in at a local guesthouse. Afterwards, enjoy free time to explore Mestia, see the iconic medieval Svan towers, and experience the atmosphere of this historic mountain town. Overnight in Mestia.

Day 2: Ushguli and Heshkili

After breakfast, travel by 4x4 vehicle to Ushguli, one of the highest permanently inhabited villages in Europe. Walk among the ancient defensive towers and stone houses while learning about the unique culture of Svaneti. Enjoy spectacular views of Mount Shkhara, the highest peak in Georgia.

On the way back to Mestia, stop at the Heshkili viewpoints, known for their panoramic scenery and views of Mount Ushba. Return to Mestia in the evening. Overnight in Mestia.

Day 3: Koruldi Lakes and Return to Kutaisi

After breakfast, drive towards Koruldi Lakes, located high above Mestia. From here you can enjoy stunning views of the Caucasus Mountains, including the famous twin peaks of Mount Ushba. Take time for photos and enjoy the peaceful alpine landscape.

Later, begin the journey back to Kutaisi with scenic stops along the route. Arrive in Kutaisi in the evening.
