Activity itinerary

Ketchikan

  • 40m
We visit the Ketchikan Creek which is one of the most iconic natural landmarks in Ketchikan, Alaska. Flowing from Ketchikan Lake through the heart of city centre, the creek is best known for its annual salmon runs, when thousands of salmon return upstream to spawn. Also Included in the City Tour is Eagle Point which is our private property. There you will get to try free smoke salmon samples, learn more about the indigenous animals of Alaska, and check out professional graded mounts such as a Black Bear, Brown Bear, Wolf, Wolverine, and many other animals.

Herring Cove

  • 30m
Herring Cove is one of Ketchikan, Alaska's most treasured natural destinations, located just a short drive south of city centre. Nestled between the Tongass National Forest and the waters of Tongass Narrows, this scenic cove is renowned for its incredible wildlife viewing opportunities and breathtaking coastal scenery. During the summer salmon runs, Herring Cove comes alive as spawning salmon return to the creek, attracting black bears, bald eagles, harbour seals, and a variety of seabirds. The surrounding old-growth rainforest, tidal estuary, and mountain backdrop create a peaceful setting that showcases the beauty of Southeast Alaska. Whether you're a wildlife photographer, birdwatcher, or simply looking to experience Alaska's untamed wilderness, Herring Cove offers an unforgettable glimpse into the region's rich ecosystem.

Saxman Totem Park

  • 35m
  • Admission ticket included
Located just a few miles south of Ketchikan, Alaska, Saxman Totem Park is one of Southeast Alaska's most significant cultural attractions and home to one of the largest collections of standing totem poles in the world. As you stroll through the park's peaceful forest setting, you'll encounter beautifully hand-carved totem poles that tell stories of clan lineage, legends, historical events, and spiritual beliefs. Many of the poles are faithful recreations of original carvings from abandoned Native villages, meticulously restored by Tlingit master carvers during the 1930s to preserve these important cultural treasures. In addition to the impressive collection of totem poles, visitors can gain a deeper understanding of Alaska Native history through interpretive exhibits and guided cultural experiences.

Creek Street

  • 5m
The last stop will be a short stop at Creek Street which we will talk about the ladies of the night and talk about the history of the red-light district. You will have the option at the end of the tour to get dropped off here or back at your ship.
