Our tour begins at Plaza del Arenal, the historic epicentre of the city and witness to centuries of history. Here you'll learn about the stories of the Reconquista and how they have changed over time.
We'll head into the San Miguel area, one of the most iconic areas of Jerez, where you'll discover the importance of this quarter in the flamenco and winemaking history of Jerez, as well as see the exterior of St. Michael's Church, with its stunning Gothic and Baroque architecture.
We'll then head to the Alcázar of Jerez, an architectural gem of Moorish origin dating back to the 11th century. From the outside, we'll admire its sturdy walls, towers, and iconic entrance gate. This site was a military stronghold and Almohad palace, and later the residence of Christian governors. Our guide will transport you back in time with fascinating stories about its uses and its influence on the region's history.
In front of the Cathedral precinct, you'll enjoy a privileged view of one of Jerez's most impressive landmarks. This landmark combines Gothic, Baroque, and Neoclassical styles in a unique architectural masterpiece. We'll stroll around its exterior perimeter while the guide explains the details of its construction, the secrets of its dome, and its importance as a religious symbol of the city.
Plaza del Arroyo offers us a charming respite. Surrounded by historic buildings, this square is perfect for enjoying the tranquility and beauty of Jerez. Here, our guide will tell you stories about the nobility that lived in this area and their relationship with the wine trade, one of Jerez's economic drivers.
Our last stop in the historic centre will be Plaza de la Asunción, one of the most beautiful and oldest squares in Jerez. Here, the Church of San Dionisio and the Old Cabildo stand out as remarkable examples of medieval and Renaissance architecture. This is where centuries of art, history, and tradition come together, and we'll invite you to take the best photos of the tour.
Equestrian show at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art. Once the tour of Jerez's historic centre is over, guests will need to make their own way to the equestrian show. We recommend arriving 30 minutes before the show starts (12:00 p.m.).
We'll round off the experience at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art. Here, you'll enjoy the spectacular “How the Andalusian Horses Dance” show, an equestrian ballet that combines the skill of the riders with the elegance of Andalusian horses. This internationally renowned show is a tribute to equestrian art and an expression of the Andalusian soul.
