This private guided walking tour offers a personalised introduction to Ise, the cultural heart of Japan. Designed to be educational rather than religious, the tour focuses on history, nature, traditional architecture, and the everyday culture surrounding the shrine.
Start your journey at Uji Bridge, the symbolic entrance to Ise Grand Shrine. Your private guide will lead you along the quiet forest path, sharing stories and insights about Ise’s heritage, the shrine’s architectural style, and the cultural meaning behind Shinto traditions in a simple and approachable way.
After visiting the main sanctuary area, continue through the forest and return to the lively streets of Oharai-machi and Okage-yokocho. These areas are filled with traditional shops, local foods, and charming historical buildings. With a private guide, you can explore at your own pace, discover hidden spots, and receive personalised recommendations.
This private experience is ideal for couples, families, solo travellers, and anyone who wants a deeper cultural understanding of one of Japan’s most important sites without being rushed or in a large group.
