What you can expect

  • Step beyond the surface and discover the true soul of Ios with this exclusive private vehicle tour for up to 6 people — a journey not of simple sightseeing, but of deep connection with the island’s myth, memory, and living heritage.

Unlike standard transfers or quick stops, this curated experience is led by passionate local experts who have spent years recording oral histories, preserving forgotten customs, and authoring books on the island’s past and ancient footpaths. Every stop unfolds like a chapter in a living storybook — rich with meaning, untold tales, and timeless beauty.

Depending on the option you choose, your tour may include:

Homer’s Tomb: Visit the legendary burial site of the epic poet, perched on the windswept northern hills. Hear the stories that connect Ios to the timeless legacy of Homer — beyond the myth, into the archaeological and cultural threads that have kept the tale alive for centuries.

Palaiokastro: Ascend to the ruins of this 14th-century Byzantine castle and take in panoramic views that once guarded against pirates. Let us share with you its forgotten history, the shifting powers of the Aegean, and how islanders lived, fought, and prayed within these ancient walls.

Diaseli Cheese Farm: Experience living tradition at a family-run “tiriá” (cheesery) in the heart of the island. Discover the age-old methods of cheese production, taste handmade delicacies, and learn how seasonal rhythms, religious fasting, and rural economy shaped everyday island life.

Throughout your journey, you won’t just see — you'll understand. Our guides bring each site to life with stories from recorded oral tradition, local anecdotes, rare archival insights, and a profound love for Ios’ cultural identity. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a lover of local lore, or simply a traveller seeking something real, this tour is designed to awaken your curiosity and leave you with a deeper sense of place.

Book now to explore Ios not just as a destination — but as a living narrative of myth, resilience, and tradition.
