What you can expect

  • Richmond has been drawing improbable people to this corner of London for a thousand years. Royals, rebels, writers and rock stars; and one or two people you'd never expect.

    This two-hour walk with a local guide tells their stories, while giving you the chance to soak up the atmosphere, discover the mysteries and admire the beautiful views that drew people here in the first place.

    Connected by the London Underground or a short train ride from London Waterloo, Richmond is an ideal day away from the hustle and bustle of Central London.

    Beyond the tour, there are riverside pubs, boat rides, picturesque walks into Richmond Park or to historic Ham House - or easily combine with a visit to the world-famous Kew Gardens.

    Groups are maximum 10 - small enough to ask every question you like, go at your own pace, and actually hear all the answers.

    We finish on Richmond Hill, at what may be London's best viewpoint and one of its oldest pubs. From here you can stay for a drink or head off for further discoveries. We'll point you in the right direction - and leave the rest to you.
