Begin your morning at the Yoichi Whisky Distillery, birthplace of Japan's world-renowned whisky craft, often called the “Scotland of the Orient.” Explore the historic stone buildings and distillation facilities that inspired a nation's love of whisky.
The day's centrepiece is Cape Kamui (Kamui Misaki), where a scenic walking trail leads to sweeping 300-degree panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. At Shimamui Coast, walk through a tunnel carved into the cliff to discover one of Japan's top 100 most transparent coastal waters.
Lunch is served at a local Hokkaido restaurant, where you'll choose between a fresh seafood rice bowl (kaisen-don) or a premium sea urchin bowl (uni-don). In the afternoon, head to a local orchard for seasonal all-you-can-eat fruit picking — cherries and strawberries in summer, grapes and apples in autumn.
The day concludes at Tenguyama Ropeway in Otaru, famous as a filming location for the internationally acclaimed Netflix drama “First Love,” offering panoramic views over the city and the Sea of Japan.
