Join us for an exciting tour that combines a scenic half-day hike through the forest and up the mountains with an unforgettable bear watching experience. The hiking tour will start around 10 am and lasts approximately 5 hours, finishing around 3 pm. You’ll have the chance to walk through the stunning Zărnești Gorge or reach the Spirlea Refuge. Our expert mountain guide will carefully select a route based on your hiking experience, ensuring it’s the perfect fit for you.

After the hike, enjoy a delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant, located close to the bear hide. The Bear Watching activity will begin either at 4 pm or 5 pm, depending on the day and season. You’ll spend about an hour in the hide, observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

What you can expect

Enjoy a full day trip from Brasov to Piatra Craiului, one of the most challenging massifs in Romania and continue with a bear watching experience.

In the morning, your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Brasov. After a short transfer to Zarnesti, you will reach the starting point. You can continue to Zarnesti Gorge, or Spirlea Refuge. The trail will be adjusted according to the participants fitness level.

After 30 min drive, you will arrive at the meeting point with the forest ranger. Once arrived at the bear hide, wait quietly until the bears arrive at the site and feel free to take photos or videos of them.If you have any questions, feel free to ask your guide, he would gladly explain interesting facts about the wildlife in Romania. Just before darkness falls, you will go back to the car and your guide will drop you off at your accommodation in Brasov.
