What you can expect
The Andes Range holds much of our history and culture, apart from being the great meeting point for the people of Mendoza. It invites us to travel its winding roads, discovering unique landscapes at every stage, learning about works made both by man, such as the Potrerillos Dam, and by nature, such as the Puente del Inca and the Cerro Aconcagua.
Depart early in the morning on International Route No. 7 towards the town of Cacheutas, bordering the Mendoza River, with majestic views of the Cordón del Plata mountain range and the Potrerillos Dam. Then we'll continue to Uspallata, a pre-Hispanic settlement of the Huarpes aborigines. We'll then continue towards the villages of Picheuta, Polvaredas, Punta de Vacas, and the former ski resort of Los Penitentes. Further on, we'll find Puente del Inca, a natural architectural masterpiece with thermal springs. A few kilometres from there, located at 2,750 metres above sea level, is the vantage point of Mount Aconcagua, the 6,959-meter colossus of the Americas.
Finally, we'll visit the town of Las Cuevas (border with Chile at 3,200 metres above sea level), and if the weather and route conditions allow, we'll end the excursion with a visit to the Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer) monument. Around noon, we'll stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Hotel drop-off in the afternoon.
