Between 1895 and 1969, Cerro Áspero was an iconic mining site in Córdoba. Pueblo Escondido was built at its foot to house the miners. The tungsten mined here was used for military purposes, so the period of highest production was during World War II.
After 30 years of neglect, since the mid-1990s, some spaces have been repurposed and restored, keeping the original façade, to adapt them for today's visitors as a tourism venture, with a hostel, shelters, a campsite, bridges, and a mountain restaurant.

Constant escort service, picking up passengers from their accommodation to make the ascent to the mountain ridge by van. Upon arrival at the mountain post, you'll embark on a hike of approximately 1.5 hours until you can see the village. Once there, you'll visit the most important sights, followed by lunch in the dining room or on the terraces. After enjoying a delicious lunch and hearing the history of the place, you'll set off on the hike back to the vehicle, which takes about 2 hours, depending on the group's pace. Passengers are insured at all times.
