Discover Vietnamese craftsmanship in a hands-on workshop in the heart of Hanoi. At Chopstick Hanoi, you'll make your own pair of wooden chopsticks from start to finish and take home something you created yourself.
Begin with pieces of Vietnamese wood and learn how to shape your chopsticks using traditional-style hand tools. Our friendly instructors will guide you step by step, so no previous woodworking experience is necessary.
Once you've shaped your chopsticks, sand them by hand until they are smooth and comfortable to use. You'll then apply a food-safe finishing oil to bring out the natural beauty and grain of the wood.
During the experience, you'll learn about chopsticks and the craftsmanship involved in making this everyday object by hand. The workshop is relaxed, practical and designed for beginners, couples, families and travellers looking for a creative alternative to traditional sightseeing.
Your finished chopsticks are yours to keep, along with a take-home pouch—a personal and useful souvenir of your time in Vietnam.
The workshop takes approximately one hour and is held in our air-conditioned studio in Trúc Bạch, close to Trấn Quốc Pagoda and West Lake.
