If you want to explore Hangzhou beyond the usual tourist spots, join me on this walking adventure through hidden trails, quiet villages, and stunning viewpoints.
This 7.5 km route takes us from ancient farmlands once used for imperial ceremonies, into the hills where caves and temples reveal centuries of spiritual traditions. Along the way, you’ll see how Daoist temples, Buddhist grottoes, and local rituals all coexist, creating a unique blend of culture and faith.
We’ll walk through tea fields, discover traces of the Southern Song Dynasty, enjoy peaceful mountain paths, and finally arrive at the iconic West Lake, one of the most celebrated landscapes in China.
It’s not just about beautiful views—it’s about history, religion, and everyday life in Hangzhou. A perfect way to experience the city like a local, while still uncovering stories that shaped its past.
