What you can expect

Come along on a guided tour along Hammerfest's cherished Gammelveien trail to experience the atmospheric season of the midnight sun, a time when the sun never sets. Built in a community effort from 1896-98, Gammelveien trail is ideal for experiencing the breathtaking midnight sun while delving into the rich history of Hammerfest with a local guide.

Wind your way up towards Salenfjellet, passing World War II history markers. The Arctic Ocean and surrounding islands will accompany you for a while before you turn to walk on the backside of Mount Salen.

Reach Salen viewpoint, where you’ll have a full view of Hammerfest from above. Then, descend on Hammerfest's famous zigzag path down to the city centre where at the foot of the path, you will see one of Hammerfest's famous landmarks: the blue music pavillon. There the tour will end.

Your adventure also includes four professional digital photographs, hot drinks like tea or coffee, and a delightful Norwegian pastry to savour along the way.
