Reggio Emilia is often considered the “younger sister” among cities that were once capitals, less known for its artistic and monumental treasures. Yet, behind its apparent discretion, it holds a very rich history, made up of hidden works, scattered masterpieces, and lost heritage.

During the route, we will virtually reconstruct the city's treasures, many of which now adorn museums and collections far away, from Paris in France to Dresden. We will retrace famous episodes of plunder, from the requisitions of Napoleon to the sensational nocturnal theft of the city's most luminous treasure, taken from a church by the will of the duke.

A journey through art, memory and civic pride, to rediscover a Reggio Emilia that is less conspicuous, but deeply rich in history, beauty and identity.
