What you can expect
Meet your tour guide at the Port of Cadiz and hop into a 4x4, SUV, or off-road vehicle to begin your journey to the White Town of Cadiz with more prizes, Vejer, the Roman footprint in Baelo Claudia, and the spectacular Bolonia Beach and Dune from the Cueva del Moro vantage point.
VEJER DE LA FRONTERA
First visit to Vejer de la Frontera, a town full of history and legends. Explore the walled enclosure and discover the legend of the owl. Visit the Iglesia del Divino Salvador to discover why there's a Star of David on one of the church's doors.See the castle of the Dukes of Medina Sidonia, a former Moorish kasbah, and learn about the city's Jewish, Christian, and Islamic past. Hear the storey of Lala Al-Zhora, who, after being expelled from Andalusian lands, left for North Africa to found Chefchaouen.
Stroll through Vejer, one of the most beautiful White Villages in Andalusia, and stop at the old gates, such as Puerta de la Villa and Puerta de Sancho IV, each with its own surprising history. End the tour with a stroll through the most iconic areas of the old town and learn the storey of Juan Relinque and the Hazas de Suerte.
BAELO CLAUDIA
A Roman settlement dating back to the 2nd century BCE, established as a processing plant for the trade of bluefin tuna throughout the Roman Empire, where you can see all the structures built by the Romans over more than five centuries of existence.
Among many places, we visit the necropolis, walls and gates, the Roman road on the Decumanus Maximus, baths and the palaestra, the basilica with the forum, the temples of the Triada Capitalina, the domus or houses of the rich, sanitation networks, fountains, and the tuna salting area.
Characters such as the Great Emperor Trajan, Junia Rufina, the Egyptian Goddess Isis, and the Doiforo await you. With a pleasant visit to the town museum.
BOLONIA BEACH and DUNE
We'll finish by climbing to the spectacular vantage point of Cueva del Moro, from where we'll show you Africa (if the day is clear) on the other side of the Atlantic, Bolonia Beach, and its dune, the largest in mainland Spain. You can also see Playa del Cañuelo, and we'll show you where the Piscinas Naturales de Claudia are located, as well as the route to Playa del Viento, Valdevaqueros, a surfer's paradise.
