This guided hike starts with a drive from Nizwa up to the spectacular Sayq Plateau in the Jebel Akhdar Mountains. After about a 50-minute drive, you'll reach the mountain village of Masairat A'Rawgeh, the starting point of the tour. There are several photo stops along the way to enjoy the breathtaking views of valleys, terraced fields, and rocky landscapes.
Once you reach the top, you'll see a beautiful traditional garden with a falaj irrigation system, fruit trees, and old stone walls. Then you'll start the leisurely descent along the W21 route, which takes about 5 hours. The trail leads along historic paths, through impressive rock formations, and past old villages with fantastic panoramic views.
Since the descent takes time, the tour starts in the morning so you can hike in pleasant temperatures. At the end of the route, you'll reach the Wadi Muaydin, where a highlight awaits: you can cool off and swim in the clear waters of the wadi – the perfect end to an unforgettable day.
The tour is accompanied by an experienced guide who will lead you safely, take plenty of breaks, and give you exciting insights into the culture and nature of Jebel Akhdar.
