What you can expect

This excursion to Lobos Island guarantees a truly complete experience. This small island, which takes its name from the monk seals that inhabited its coast until the last century, is just 4.5 square kilometres. Its endemic flora and fauna, along with its crystal-clear waters and incredibly beautiful volcanic landscapes, have made it a Natural Park.

To get there, we'll take a small ferry from the Port of Corralejo for about 15 minutes. During the journey, you'll enjoy the incredible views and the clarity of the turquoise waters. Once we arrive and after booking our lunch at the only restaurant on the island, we'll begin our hike, which covers a total distance of 10 kilometres and lasts approximately 3 hours (depending on each person's physical condition).

The first point on the trail takes us to La Calera Beach. In this paradisiacal natural bay, there's an archaeological site dating back to the ancient Romans, who established a settlement on the island 2,000 years ago to obtain the purple dye.

We will continue to climb to the top of the La Caldera volcano, which is 127 metres high. The spectacular views are worth the effort. Afterwards, we'll head north to the Martiño Lighthouse, one of the oldest in the Canaries. We'll return along the east side of the island until we reach Las Lagunitas, a salt marsh full of vegetation. Our last stop will be at El Puertito, a picturesque little village of the former fishermen who worked on the island. There, we can rest and take a refreshing dip in its natural pools. The final reward will be a delicious paella at the restaurant with the best sea views.
