What you can expect

Venture into a realm of wonder and geological history on the immersive Cathedral Cave tour. As you explore the beautiful Capricorn Caves, visit the impressive Cathedral Cave itself, learning about the natural origins and early explorers of the labyrinthine caverns.

An extensive system of above-ground and subterranean caves, the Capricorn Caves are a wonder of nature. Formed nearly 390 million years ago from limestone rock on the seafloor, the cave sports many natural mineral deposits and original corals that can still be seen today. As you make your way through the well-lit caverns, learn about their unique origins as well as their history with humans, from Aboriginal people to settlers in the 1880s.

Your friendly and knowledgeable guide leads you past rare ferns, sturdy tree roots, and roosts of insectivorous bat, supplementing each step with enticing facts and stories. Marvel at the vast and beautiful Cathedral Cave, which also functions as a venue for weddings and underground opera thanks to its near-perfect acoustics. On your way out of the caves, navigate your way around the tight Zig Zag passage and across swinging bridges to end your tour with a sense of thrilling adventure.
