What you can expect

Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Guanacaste. Head to Palo Verde National Park, a wildlife refuge located between the Tempisque and Bebedero rivers. This park is home to the largest wetland area in Costa Rica, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience nature in its purest form.

The name “Palo Verde” comes from the native shrub known as “horse bean,” which literally means “green stick” due to its green leaves, branches, and trunk, and its delicate yellow flowers.

Embark on a floating safari adventure through the tropical dry forest of Costa Rica. As you navigate along the Bebedero River, admire the breathtaking natural beauty of Palo Verde National Park. Spot crocodiles basking in the sun, groups of monkeys swinging through the trees, and an amazing variety of local and migratory birds.

Some of the resident bird species commonly seen include the Anhinga (Snake Bird), Roseate Spoonbill, Wood Stork, and the Jabiru — the largest bird in Central America and one of the most endangered.
