What you can expect
Step into the incredible surroundings of the Grand Canyon on a journey that shows off the best sights of the West Rim. This excursion gives you spectacular views of the canyon, a ride on the Colorado River, and a fresh appreciation for the land and its history.
You get started with a flight from Deer Valley Airport in Pheonix, so enjoy the view of Lake Pleasant, the Bradshaw Mountains, and the open ranches and mining land on your way to the Hualapai Reservation and the Grand Canyon itself. You land at Grand Canyon West Airport, where you go from the aeroplane directly to a helicopter for a flight down to the canyon’s floor.
A pontoon boat is waiting for you for the next leg of your adventure, a smooth ride on the waters of the Colorado River. This is a great opportunity to see the canyon walls towering above, and get some terrific photos that show the scenery from a whole new perspective.
Next, the helicopter takes you up for a 10-minute flight that shows off a bird’s-eye view of the canyon. When you land back at the rim, it’s time to visit the spectacular Grand Canyon Skywalk—an architectural marvel that extends 65 feet (19 m) out over the canyon. The glass floor lets you look straight down for an unmissable view of the ground 4,000 feet (1.2 km) below your feet.
From there, you get the chance to explore some of the most striking sites along the canyon rim. Check out ancient traditional dwellings at Eagle Point, and then head to Guano Point for lunch at one of the most scenic places around—an outdoor eating area surrounded on 3 sides by the canyon. Enjoy a leisurely walk for more spectacular views before you head back to the airport and begin your return trip to Phoenix.
