If I say Gouda, you'll probably answer cheese. And yet, the city has much more to offer. At the centre of Dutch trade for centuries, Gouda has distinguished itself in many ways. The guided visit I offer will take you off the beaten track to discover all the wonders and secrets of this golden city!
We will stroll through the Market Square, under the wings of windmills, through the narrow streets of the peat cutters, in beautiful courtyards typical of the Netherlands, and, of course, along the canals.
Designed and conducted in French, the tour will offer an experience that is fully adapted to all French speakers who are passing through, as well as those who have been living in the Netherlands for a while.
My mission: to take you on a fun and relaxed exploration of Gouda, off the usual tourist path, to show you the unique character of this city.
The tour begins at the foot of the Goudse Waag – the former cheese weighing building – on the Markt, Gouda's main square. After a two-hour walk, we will return to the same place before parting ways. But before that, we will have talked about Gouda pipes, Gouda candles, Gouda porcelain, Gouda beer, and everything that does not appear in the tourist brochures but nevertheless spices up the charm of this Dutch city.
