Begin your adventure by boarding a glass-bottom boat and setting sail to the Gili Islands. Your first stop is the world-famous underwater sculpture by artist Jason deCaires Taylor, located just off the coast of Gili Meno. “The Nest” features 48 life-sized human figures arranged in a circle. Over time, it has transformed into an artificial reef, teeming with colourful soft corals and schools of tropical fish. It is an absolute must-see and a dream spot for stunning underwater photography.

Next, head to the sanctuary of the gentle giants. The waters surrounding the Gilis are famous for their thriving population of Hawksbill and Green sea turtles. Glide peacefully alongside these majestic creatures as they graze on sea grass or float effortlessly to the surface for air.

Continue to the thriving coral gardens near Gili Air. Here, the ocean floor comes alive with a kaleidoscope of hard and soft corals. You will be handed some fish food, and within seconds, you’ll be surrounded by hundreds of friendly, neon-colored damselfish, clownfish, and surgeonfish. It feels like swimming inside a giant, natural aquarium.

After working up an appetite, the boat will dock at either Gili Air or Gili Meno for a midday break. You will have about 1 to 1.5 hours of free time to enjoy a delicious beachfront lunch at a local warung, sip on a fresh coconut, stroll along the powdery white sand, or simply sunbathe under the tropical sun.
