ARRIVE IN GAMBOA

Your activities begin at approximately 9:15 AM in Gamboa. Meet at the resort’s designated activity meeting point, or select the optional return hotel transfer during checkout.

With the transport add-on, pickup from eligible Panama City lodging takes place approximately between 8:00 and 8:30 AM. Allow around 40–60 minutes for the drive, depending on traffic and your pickup location.

GATUN LAKE BOAT TOUR & MONKEY ISLAND

Board your boat and explore Gatun Lake and the Chagres River area with your guide. Travel beside rainforest-covered shores and islands while learning about the wildlife and the Panama Canal.

Look for monkeys among the branches, including capuchins, howlers and tamarins. Birds and other wildlife may also appear along the shoreline. Animal sightings vary, and your guide will help you spot what is active that day.

Gatun Lake forms part of the Panama Canal, so you may also see vessels navigating its waters. This is a wildlife boat excursion; it does not pass through the locks or visit a locks visitor centre.

SLOTH SANCTUARY & ECOLOGICAL EXHIBITS

Continue to the Gamboa Sloth Sanctuary for an educational introduction to these fascinating animals. Learn about their behaviour, diet and conservation while observing the sloths in the sanctuary’s care.

Explore the nearby Butterfly House, orchid garden and frog exhibit. Discover more of Panama’s biodiversity through the scheduled exhibits, with displays and animal activity varying throughout the year.

Follow your guides’ wildlife instructions. Observe animals respectfully without touching, handling or independently feeding them.

BUFFET LUNCH AT THE RESORT

Finish your activities with buffet lunch at Gamboa Rainforest Resort. Relax over your meal in the rainforest setting, with water and one soft drink included.

Buffet dishes change. Let us know about dietary requirements before travel so we can advise on available arrangements.

FINISH IN GAMBOA OR RETURN TO YOUR HOTEL

The on-site experience takes approximately four hours. If you selected the transport add-on, your return transfer departs Gamboa around 1:30–2:00 PM. Hotel arrival follows the drive and depends on traffic.

This package operates Tuesday through Sunday and is closed on Mondays. It includes the boat tour, sanctuary, ecological exhibits and buffet lunch. The aerial tram is available through our other Gamboa packages.
