What you can expect

  • Begin your day in Kleinbaai harbour, just outside the town of Gansbaai. Enjoy a light breakfast and coffee on arrival. During breakfast, sign the indemnity forms and listen to a dive briefing given by the qualified crew. After a short walk down the road, board the boat and set off for adventure.

Take a 20-minute boat ride to the dive site. After anchoring the boat, the crew starts chumming for sharks and hands out dive gear. Once the sharks arrive, take turns going in the cage. Most cages take between 4 and 8 persons at a time.

If you don’t want to go into the cage, enjoy impressive boat-based viewing and plenty of photo opportunities. Children from the age of 8 can join in the cage diving fun. Younger children also welcome to cage dive on request.

Back on land, enjoy a light lunch and clean showers. During lunch, watch the video that the onboard media crew filmed. Your trip video is available for purchase, but you are welcome to bring your camera or rent a GoPro from us.

But the fun does not end here! After greeting the shark team you will head off 10 minutes down the road to meet some of the largest Nile corcodiles in South Africa!
These crocs are taken care of hand in hand with CapeNature and a dedicated crocodile vetenarian. For the adventure seekers whom haven't cage dived enough for the day; you are welcome to jump in the water with the crocodiles for an additional charge. The rest of us may enjoy the gorgeous views from the bridged deck overlooking the crocodile pond.

Lastly we end our day at Betty's Bay, the Stony Point land-based penguin colony, operated by CapeNature, is the third-largest breeding colony of African Penguins in the world and has been showing a measurable increase in breeding pairs. A thoughtfully constructed boardwalk allows visitors to meander through the reserve and closely observe the penguins in their natural habitat.
